Personalized assessment
To determine the most suitable treatment, an initial consultation is recommended.
The aim is to analyze your needs and draw up a customized treatment plan.
What is hair surgery?
Are you balding? Has your doctor talked to you about androgenetic baldness?
Capillary surgery brings together a range of techniques to treat severe and established baldness. During your consultation with your Clinique du Lac practitioner, he or she will advise you on the most appropriate solution, after examining your scalp and your history. Over the age of 50, 50% of men are affected by permanent hair loss. Women are also affected, particularly after the menopause, due to hormonal changes.
What are the different types of hair surgery?
There comes a time when patients suffering from alopecia consider cosmetic hair surgery or hair implants. Here are the different hair restoration techniques performed at Clinique du Lac.
Often referred to as FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation), this hair transplant is also known as the strip technique. Follicular grafts are harvested in the form of strips from the back of the head, where hair never falls out. These strips are cut into micrografts, which are then grafted onto the balding area. Sessions can be repeated, depending on the degree of alopecia. This effective technique leaves a fine scar.
This hair transplant is particularly indicated for people with large bald patches and for those with frizzy hair for whom the FUE technique is not suitable.
The FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) hair transplant technique involves removing hair bulbs one by one and transplanting them to balding areas. It is generally reserved for smaller areas. Its main advantages: a natural result and the absence of scars visible to the naked eye.
Injecting PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) stimulates hair regrowth by acting on the hair follicle's stem cells. These living cells encourage the hair follicle to "manufacture" new hair. Several sessions can slow or even halt hair loss. The quality of the hair is greatly improved (thickness, suppleness...).
This technique is designed for people who are starting to lose their hair.
