The burr appears as a hard, mobile ball under the scalp, usually painless, measuring around 1 cm in diameter. It can sometimes grow and become a nuisance, reaching a few centimetres in diameter.
When the burr is invisible under the hair, totally benign and painless, many patients are fine and don't feel the need to touch it. For others, especially if the burr grows and becomes visible, it must be removed.

Personalized assessment
To determine the most suitable treatment, an initial consultation is recommended.
The aim is to analyze your needs and draw up a customized treatment plan.
Surgical excision is then required, i.e. removal of the burr with a scalpel, followed by stitches. Once removed, the burr generally does not recur, but other burrs may appear elsewhere on the scalp.
The Clinique du Lac can offer you this surgical removal. You must first meet the plastic surgeon during an initial consultation, and then the procedure can be scheduled. The procedure lasts between 30 and 45 minutes and does not require general anesthesia or time off work.
