What is Tricholab technology by Fotofinder?
Fotofinder's Tricholab technology for capillary diagnosis is an advanced system using trichoscopy to examine the scalp and hair. Trichoscopy is a non-invasive method which allows you to observe the hair and scalp at microscopic level. Fotofinder uses a special high-resolution Leviacam camera to capture detailed images of the hair follicles and scalp. These images are then analyzed to detect signs of various hair problems such as hair loss, scalp diseases and disorders of the hair growth cycle. This technology enables Clinique du Lac's experts to obtain a precise diagnosis and recommend the right treatment for each patient. What are we looking for in a diagnosis?
Thanks to the capillary diagnosis, we can evaluate :
- The number of hairs
- Density
- Thickness
- Hair length and growth
- The anagen/telogen ratio
- The hair/end ratio
- Density of follicular units (hair follicles)
- Percentage of single, double, triple and more follicular units

Practical information
With the Fotofinder TrichoLAB expert system, patients can receive a thichoscopic report at the end of their consultation. Consultations are carried out by our medical assistants.
In addition, if the surgeon and patient wish to have a more complete analysis, we can send the results of this trichoscopy to an external laboratory, with a return to the patient in around 5 days.
