Dermapen microneedling technique: objectives and principles

In practice
Dermapen is based on the principle of micropuncture. This technique involves subcutaneous micro-injections using an electric pen fitted with various microneedles. Dermapen is equipped with a sterile, single-use head containing from 12 to 36 microneedles. Depending on the head model chosen and the desired depth of action (from 0.25 to 3 mm), the treatment may be painless or slightly uncomfortable, in which case an anaesthetic cream may be applied.
The injections performed will help stimulate fibroblast cells, responsible for producing collagen and elastin fibers, the two proteins that give skin firmness, elasticity and suppleness. The benefits of Dermapen sessions can be rapidly appreciated. Incipient wrinkles are smoothed out, and the face looks visibly younger. In the months following the session, skin structure continues to improve. Microneedling is also effective in treating acne and erasing scars. Dermapen is also indicated for the treatment of stretch marks.
How Dermapen Professional works
Dermapen skin treatment is performed without surgery and without anesthesia - even local anesthesia. In fact, this regenerating skin care treatment causes no pain at all, at most a slight discomfort, which an anaesthetic cream is enough to dispel.
During the session, the patient lies down comfortably. The doctor then applies Dermapen to the various areas to be treated.
After the session, there is no reddening of the face (unlike with laser or peeling). Depending on the patient's age, the imperfections to be corrected and the characteristics of their skin, several sessions may be scheduled.
