Face lift

The cervico-facial lift is most frequently performed to surgically correct aging from the temples to the jowls. The cervico-facial lift involves the natural repositioning of the muscles and adaptation of the skin in the face and neck.

Duration: 3 hours.

What is a cervico-facial lift?

The aim of such an operation is not to change the shape and appearance of the face. On the contrary, the simple restoration of the various anatomical structures of the face and neck (skin, muscle, fat) enables the patient to regain the appearance he or she had a few years ago.

The aim of the operation is to treat sagging and slackening of the skin and muscles of the face (temples and eyebrows, cheeks, jowls, oval of the face) and neck.

  • Type: Tightens skin and facial muscles
  • Anaesthesia: neuroleptanalgesia
  • Duration: 3 hours
  • Stay: outpatient or 24 h
  • De-socialization: 8 days

Advantages: The entire lower face, oval and neck can be treated, with scars concealed in the ear and hair.

Cervical-facial lift applications

Facelifts have long been the subject of well-known procedures in the medical world. The aim is always to correct aging of the face and neck.

Cervico-facial lifting involves the neck, cheeks and temples, and aims to correct the effects of aging.

Please note that Medicare does not cover these procedures.

The aim is to counter sagging skin and muscles in the face (oval of the face, cheeks, eyebrows and temples) and neck.

The aim is not to change the appearance of the face, but to restore the structures of the face and neck (fat, muscles, skin). The patient can thus hope to regain his or her previous appearance.

Loose muscles are corrected (re-tensioned), and the skin is then adapted, without excess, to the new curves.

Thanks to this dual action, the result looks natural (the skin is not "pulled") and long-lasting (the muscular plan is solid).

Generally speaking, the post-operative period is straightforward, as the skin is minimally traumatized (limited tension and detachment). Liposuction can treat any excess fat.

Symmetrically, an emaciated face can be corrected by reinjecting fat from another part of the body.

The face and neck are truly restructured.

This procedure does not affect expression lines, crow's feet or perioral wrinkles.

Deep wrinkles are made less pronounced by the tension exerted on the skin. But they never disappear completely.

Similarly, the eyelids are not affected.

This procedure is generally requested after the age of forty, i.e. at the first signs of aging.

It can be carried out simultaneously with cosmetic eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) or correction of forehead sagging and wrinkles (browlift). Certain therapies can also act as a complement (hyaluronic acid filler injection, laser, dermabrasion, botulinum toxin injection, peeling, etc.).

The practitioner will draw up a pre-operative check-up. Two days before the operation (at the latest), a consultation takes place with the anaesthetist. You shouldstop smoking and taking any form of aspirin ten days before the operation.

Hair will be washed the day before the operation, and all traces of make-up removed. For six hours prior to the operation, the patient will observe a total fast (no food or drink).

The surgeon has two options for performing a facelift: general anaesthesia or "deep" local anaesthesia known as vigile anaesthesia (intravenously injected tranquilizers).

The decision is taken following a discussion between the patient, the anesthetist and the surgeon.

This operation is performed on an outpatient basis. The patient enters in the morning and leaves at the end of the day. Overnight stays are possible if desired.
