Pubic Liposuction

Liposuction of the pubis or mound of Venus

Like any other part of the body, fat can accumulate in the pubic area, the part of the body between the sexual organs and the lower abdomen, also known as the Mount of Venus in women, which can be very distressing, especially when the woman is naked or in a bathing suit.

It can easily be liposuctioned, as can other fatty areas of the body.

  • Duration of procedure: Liposuction of the pubis is performed under general anesthesia and generally lasts between 30 minutes and 1 hour, depending on the amount of excess fat to be treated.
  • Length of stay: This procedure is performed on an outpatient basis, which means that the patient can go home the same day.
  • Duration of post-operative precautions: It is advisable to wear sheathing for about 4 weeks after liposuction. Oedema may persist for 1 to 3 months, and the final result is visible after about 6 months. Showering is permitted from the next day or two, but bathing and sexual intercourse are not recommended for 2 to 3 weeks.

Like all other cosmetic surgerya period of reflection is required before considering this procedure. During the consultation, care should be taken to clearly define the patient's requirements.

The anatomy of the abdominal region must also be taken into account. In some cases, liposuction of the Mont de Venus may be required in conjunction with abdominoplasty.

The surgical technique involves aspirating excess fat using a fine cannula. The amount of fat to be removed depends on the amount of excess fat and the patient's requirements.

In theory, this procedure can be performed under local anaesthetic. In practice, however, it is often performed under short general anaesthesia, as the area is quite sensitive and the localization delicate.

This procedure can be performed on an outpatient basis.
In most cases, post-operative recovery is straightforward. It is advisable to wear shaping pants for about 4 weeks after liposuction.

It should be noted that liposuction of the Mount of Venus usually results in significant edema of the vulvar region, with a swollen vulvar area lasting a fortnight.

Showers are permitted from the next day or two, but bathing and sexual relations are not recommended for 2 to 3 weeks.

In the vast majority of cases, patients judge the result to be satisfactory or very satisfactory. The scar is usually extremely discreet. It should be noted that edema persists for one to three months, and that it takes about six months to obtain the final result of this procedure.
