Mammary increase through fat injection

Mammary lipofilling?

You complain about being too curvy in some of your body parts but not enough volume in your breasts? You are curvy and find your breasts to small after losing weight or after a pregnancy? The mammary lipofilling, also called fat transfer, is what you need! This plastic surgery is an alternative and can be added with mammary implants. Its goal… Slimming down some body parts and have bigger breasts, a more rounded, filled low-cut neckline. The result is appreciated for its natural look.

What is mammary lipofilling ?

Lipofilling, which started 10 years ago, aims at moderately and naturally increasing the breasts without using implants and consequently without risking a rejection of the body.

Lipofilling is a mammary surgery that increases the breasts using fat injections taken from other parts of the body of the patient (backside, belly, hips…).

Mammary lipofilling creates a moderate increase of the roundness of the breasts or correct their asymmetrical aspect. It is consequently not suggested if the patient want to go from an A bra-cup to a D one. Associated with an identified fat liposuction, lipofilling also restructurizes the global harmony of the figure.

It is important to present enough adipose parts – available and ready to be taken. This surgery is not for you if you are too slim.

Lipofilling: practical informations

The best part about this fat transfer for a mammary increase is that, in one intervention, it pairs the volume increase of the breasts and the treatment of identified disgraceful fatty parts. The lipofilling is different from the placement of mammary prosthesis. Indeed, you do not need implants, it does not leave visible scars and the follow-ups are lighter.

Breasts Lipofilling: objectives and principles

There are 2 steps for the lipofilling intervention. At first, the surgeon does the swabs through liposuction of the fat in one part of the patient’s body (backside or belly). Then, after treatment, he injects the intact fat cells from the swabs in the breasts. It corrects a mammary hypoplasia, which is when the volume of the breasts is insufficient compared to the rest of the body. It can already be like that from puberty (small breasts) or after an important weight loss or after a pregnancy followed by breastfeeding.

This technique of mammary increase through fat injections can sometimes be suggested in the case of a restorative surgery after a mastectomy or a lumpectomy.

Mammary lipofilling: before the intervention

During the first meeting, the expert at Clinique du Lac does a general check up of the patient’s health and her motives to see how doable it can be. After the checkups and interactions, he establishes a personalized and precise quote.

This mammary increase surgery through fat injections being impacted by the variable of the weight, it is preferable to reschedule the intervention if the patient is trying to lose weight or trying to be pregnant.

When a date is found, a meeting with the anesthetist is scheduled 15 days before the surgery.

As usual, it is recommended not to smoke to avoid impacting the blood circulation.

Lipofilling: type of anesthesia and hospitalization modalities

This kind of intervention lasts 2 hours. It is done under general anesthesia during an ambulatory hospitalization. The patient can leave the clinic the day of the surgery.

Mammary lipofilling: the intervention

The surgeon first does a liposuction to suck up the adipose tissues. Most of the time, the fat is taken from the belly, the love handles or the internal area of the thighs. A treatment of the fat is then done using a centrifugation process. Finally, the adipose cells are re-injected in the breasts. With very thin cannula (needles), the surgeon practices the injections in different places at different depths to obtain a more homogenous result.
